Culver-Union Township EMS will have to wait until February for a decision on its proposed rate increase. Back in October, EMS Director Kathy Hart presented proposals to raise rates by 20 or 25 percent. But up until now, no public hearing has been scheduled to move ahead with the process.
Clerk-Treasurer Karen Heim told the town council Tuesday that she had planned to advertise a public hearing for this month, but realized she hadn’t done it in time. Council members agreed to let her schedule the hearing for their February 12 meeting.
Before that, they will meet in a work session to give an update on the proposal to new members Bill Cleavenger, Bill Githens, and Rich West. The work session and a board of finance meeting will be held on January 22, starting at 5:00 EST, before that night’s regular council meeting.
