Plymouth Man arrested on Battery Charge

A Plymouth man was arrested on Thursday after reportedly fighting with a police officer.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and Plymouth Police Department were notified of a suspicious man walking through the back yards of several residences in the area of the 11,000 block of 9A Road in Plymouth.  When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect, 49-year-old Dennis Wireman, ran from police on foot, according to the report.   The report also indicated that he fought with an officer before he was successfully taken into custody. 

Police believe Wireman was under the influence of narcotics at the time of the incident.

Wireman was booked into the Marshall County Jail on a preliminary charge of resisting law enforcement, battery on a public service official.  Bond was set at $1,500 cash.
