The Plymouth Board of Works has chosen a contractor for this year’s spring street and sidewalk projects.
Walsh & Kelly was awarded the bid during Monday’s meeting, according to Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver. The company submitted the lowest of five bids, at just under $636,000.
Streets set to get work this spring include Randolph from Jefferson to Baker, Stanley from Hehr to Jim Neu, Walnut from Jefferson to Monroe, and Madison from Plum to Center. Work will also take place on Kingston from Pennsylvania to Jefferson, Lemler from Michigan to Bayless, and Chester from Clinton to Oakhill.
The projects are eligible for an INDOT Community Crossings grant, which, if approved, would cover half the cost. Xaver says City Engineer Rick Gaul expects the state to process the agreement sometime next month.
