New Argos Reps Needed for Stellar Steering Committee and County Development for the Future Group

Some new individuals will need to represent the Town of Argos for the County Development for the Future group and the Regional Stellar Communities Steering committee.

At last week’s Town Council meeting, Councilwoman Suzanne Umbaugh announced that she will no longer be serving as the town’s representative for the County Development for the Future meetings.

She noted that the organization meets quarterly and for the past three years, she’s been providing the Argos updates. She said since Mark Vanderweele left the council, she’s the only Argos representative who’s been attending those meetings.

She informed her fellow council members that typically it is the council president who serves as the representative for that organization but since there was a vacancy, she stepped in.

She said since she won’t be serving in the position in 2019, she has provided them with the names of Council President George Null, Vice President Charles Randy Snead and referred them to the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation as well.

Additionally, Umbaugh said she will no longer represent Argos on the Regional Stellar Communities Steering Committee. She said the names of the other council members have been submitted to the committee as potential replacements.

While she did indicate her resignation from those representative positions, Umbaugh noted that she will still be serving the Town in a number of ways, including as the liaison for the fire department and the utility department. She also noted that she runs the Argos Task Force meetings on a monthly basis.
