ELearning may be incorporated into the curriculum at the John Glenn School Corporation in the 2019-2020 school year.
The school board members had the chance to review the school calendar this week. The calendar appears similar to this school year, but it may be adjusted depending on discussions with incoming Superintendent Christopher Winchell, according to Superintendent Richard Reese.
“I know one of the discussions will be concerning eLearning,” said Reese. “There will be a meeting with Mr. Morton and Mrs. Gibson later this week to talk about all of the ins and outs of how we could make that happen here at John Glenn. It’s kind of a new thing. We can always revise the calendar in the future.”
Winchell will officially take the office of superintendent on July 1. Reese said there are a few different ways eLearning can be incorporated at the school corporation.
“Some you can plan in advance, some you can do on day of the snow day. You can choose to that. You can choose not to do that. Many, many other school corporations do that. So, we’ll bring that to your attention sometime in the near future.”
The school board members approved the school calendar as it was presented Tuesday night. It can also be viewed at www.jgsc.k12.in.us.
