John Glenn School Board Approves Resolutions for New Budget Funds

The John Glenn School Board members approved several resolutions Tuesday night to put proper funding into the newly established Education Fund and Operations Fund.

Recording Secretary Lisa Sleek read aloud from the proposed resolutions that allows reappointed Corporation Treasurer Tom Bendy to transfer the remaining money in the General Fund from Dec. 31, 2018 into the Education Fund for student instruction and learning and the transfer of remaining money not allocated for student instruction and learning in the Capital Projects Fund, Transportation Fund and the Bus Replacement Fund from Dec. 31, 2018 into the Operations Fund. 

Additionally, a resolution was approved that allows a monthly transfer of funds in the amount of $158,333 from the Education Fund to the Operations Fund that aren’t allocated for student instruction and learning for a three month period beginning Jan. 29.  The funding comes from a monthly distribution of tuition from the state. 

All resolutions were approved unanimously by the board members.

The new budget funding structure for school corporations began Jan. 1.
