Bids for the 2019 street and sidewalk projects were opened by Plymouth City Attorney Sean Surrisi during the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety meeting on Monday.
The projects will be submitted as the city’s Community Crossings grant application request for the first call for projects in 2019. Applications are due by Feb. 1.
The proposed projects include Randolph from Jefferson to Baker, Stanley from Hehr to Jim Neu, Walnut from Jefferson to Monroe, Madison from Plum to Center, Kingston from Pennsylvania to Jefferson, Lemler from Michigan to Bayless, and Chester from Clinton to Oakhill.
Five bids were received for the projects. Walsh and Kelly out of South Bend bid just under $636,000, Rieth-Riley out of South Bend bid just under $700,000, Niblock Excavating, Inc out of Bristol bid about $720,000, E&B Paving out of Rochester bid about $784,000, and Phend and Brown out of Milford bid just over $858,000.
The bids were taken under advisement for review by the City Attorney, City Engineer Rick Gaul and Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt. A bid may be awarded during the board’s next meeting on Monday, Jan. 28.
