Argos Town Superintendent Jamie Lindstrom was given permission to advertise the bids for the 2019 Street Paving projects during last Wednesday’s town council meeting.
Superintendent Lindstrom provided members with a timeline, stating that the projects will be advertised in the newspaper initially on Tuesday, January 29th and then again on Tuesday, February 5th.
He went on to say that a pre-bid meeting will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Februrary 7th. Next, officials will hold a bid opening at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19th and the bids will be presented to the council members at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20th.
Lindstrom mentioned that these projects are the same ones that were listed in the Town’s Community Crossings Grant Application. As a reminder, the town was awarded about $926,970 in the most recent grant round.
Lindstrom explained that roadwork at Westview Court will be covered under these projects. He said the current plan is to try and get that work done in the spring. However, he noted that it will depend on when crews complete the second phase of an ongoing drainage project there.
Independence Avenue, Freedom Street and Constitution Avenue in the Colonial Estates Subdivision are included in the 2019 projects and so is Woodland Trail.
