Marshall County Highway Supervisor Jason Peters is warning residents of vandalism of stop signs throughout the county.
Peters said unknown persons are pulling out stop signs at intersections and creating a dangerous situation for drivers. He urges drivers to pay attention to signs and also traffic coming to a stop. A stop sign may be present as you approach an intersection, but other signs may not be there to stop traffic so he recommends extra caution.
If a stop sign is down or missing, call the Marshall County Highway Department at 574-936-2181 so the employees can replace it as soon as possible. If any suspicious activity is witnessed call the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department at 574-936-3187 and report as much detail as possible.
