Triton School Board members approved the calendar for the 2019-2020 school year when they met last Tuesday.
Orientation day will be held on Tuesday, August 6th. That will also be the first official day for teachers. The first day for students will be the following day on Wednesday, August 7th.
School officials note that early dismissal will take place every Friday, with the Elementary School releasing students at 2:35 p.m. and the Jr./Sr. High School dismissing at 2:45 p.m.
Triton’s fall break will run from Monday, October 21st through Friday, October 25th while winter break will begin on Wednesday, December 27th in 2019. Students will return from winter break on Tuesday, January 7th, 2020. Spring break will run from Friday, March 20th until Monday, March 30th.
The final day for students is set for Friday, May 29th but that is subject to change if the school corporation exceeds the number of contingency days built into the calendar.
February 17th, April 10th, April 24th and June 1st through 5th are to be used as makeup days if needed. If nothing has to be made up on those dates, classes will not be held.
The commencement ceremony is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, June 7th but it may be held the following Sunday on June 14th depending on the number of weather-related cancelations throughout the school year.
