A public hearing was held Tuesday night on the 2018 contract for the John Glenn School Superintendent.
Superintendent Richard Reese explained to the school board members that at the most recent meeting of the school board, the members approved a two percent increase in the salaries for all administrators retroactive to July 1, 2018. That increase included the superintendent so his 2018 contract had to be advertised and set for a public hearing.
The advertised contract runs until Reese’s retirement on June 30, 2019. Any increase is dependent upon the superintendent being rated effective or highly effective on the superintendent RISE evaluation instrument use by the school corporation. The year base salary is $119,693. Insurance, annuity, mileage, personal days and vacations days are also spelled out in the document.
No public comment was heard during the hearing.
Another public hearing is set for Thursday, Dec. 20 to present the new superintendent’s contract for 2019. The announcement of the new superintendent will be made during another special meeting on Thursday, Dec 27 when both the 2018 and 2019 contracts will be formally accepted by the board.
