Two Plymouth residents were arrested early Sunday morning, in connection with an apparent break-in at a storage facility. It happened shortly before 3:00 a.m. near Jefferson Street and Oak Drive, according to Marshall County Police.
A patrolman says he saw a man walking from the west side of Oak Drive in the area of the railroad tracks, carrying what appeared to be several bags. The man then reportedly got into a vehicle in the Dairy Queen parking lot, which then left the area.
Police say they stopped the vehicle near Oakhill Avenue and Michigan Street, and the passenger initially gave police a false name. He was later identified as Jason Lee Goad, 32, and police learned that he had an active warrant through St. Joseph County.
Meanwhile, Plymouth Police checked the area the man was seen walking from, and reportedly found that someone had broken into one of the storage lockers. Police say that in the vehicle, they found bolt cutters, other entry devices, two portable two-way radios, and apparently stolen items such as jewelry, clothing, and personal belongings.
Goad admitted to breaking into the storage the facility with the intent to steal some of the items, according to police. He was booked into the Marshall County Jail for burglary, theft, and false informing.
Police say they also interviewed the driver of the vehicle, Jeremy James Goodrich, 38, and determined that he was involved in the crime. He was booked into jail for assisting a criminal and conspiracy to commit burglary.
