Plymouth Library Parking to be Restricted during Project

A project at the Plymouth Public Library will cause parking issues for the next two days on the east side of the building.

A representative from Shambaugh and Sons explained to the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members Monday night that they will be parking a crane in a few parking spots in order to complete the removal and installment of rooftop units at the library. He requested that a portion of sidewalk be blocked as well for safety of patrons.

According to the company, there was mold in the HVAC system at the library and they will be replacing the units in a project that is expected to begin today (Wednesday, Dec. 12) and end Thursday.

Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt said he will monitor the area and provide assistance with more signage, if needed. Fire Chief Rod Miller said the restriction should not affect emergency vehicle travel in the area.

The board members unanimously approved the request to block off a few parking spots to accommodate the library’s project.
