The Marshall County Early Childhood Coalition was awarded a matching grant in the amount of nearly $240,000 by the Indiana’s Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning organizations.
The grants were awarded to early learning providers and county coalitions to help serve more pre-kindergarten children and increase the quality of early education opportunities provided throughout Indiana.
According to Linda Yoder from the United Way of Marshall County and the Marshall County Community Foundation, the funds will be used for training and professional development of teaching staff, classroom materials or increased instructional practices for educators, family engagement materials and marketing and communication materials.
Marshall County providers include the Argos Little Dragons Preschool, Bremen Preschool, Carey’s Child Care Inc. in Plymouth, Culver Elementary School Small Wonders Center Location in Plymouth, Triton Elementary School and Max’s Playhouse in Culver.
On My Way Pre-K is Indiana’s first state-funded pre-kindergarten grant program, which was established as a five-county pilot by the Indiana General Assembly in 2014.
