Josh Walker announced his intention to file for the Mayor of Plymouth in the 2019 Municipal Election. The announcement was made Tuesday morning at his downtown business in Plymouth.
Walker said his decision to run for mayor is one that’s taken some time to make a reality.
“It’s been something that’s been building for a while,” said Walker. “I’ve been involved in the community, volunteering, business, non-profits, and just seeing the kind of things our community needs and the potential that exists. I feel like I’m the right person at the right time to bring that energy and get support behind it.”
He has a few goals in mind, if elected.
“If elected, Id’ like to improve the climate for local jobs and also implement positive local leadership.”
Walker announced his candidacy along side his wife, Amy, and infant daughter, Soliel. Walker owns Recon Media which specializes in branding, marketing, and advertising. He is a combat veteran of the 101st Airborne Division and led efforts during the flooding event in February.
