Indiana State Police Troopers seized over 100 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop in Marshall County.
On Tuesday afternoon, police say Trooper Dave Caswell stopped 68-year-old Tony Lim of San Gabriel, California, who was driving a Dodge Caravan. Lim allegedly performed a moving violation as he was traveling eastbound on U.S 30 just east of Iris Road in Marshall County.
According to the report, Trooper Caswell suspected drug activity after speaking to Lim and initiated the service of his K9 partner, Chase. The K9 reportedly indicated to the presence of drugs inside the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly revealed about 160 pounds of sealed packages of suspected marijuana. The amount of marijuana seized has a street value of approximately $300,000.
Lim was taken into custody and booked into the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of dealing marijuana and possession of marijuana.
Trooper Caswell was assisted by Lt. Chad Larsh, Trooper Tim Carpenter, and Trooper Chris Eagles.
