The Argos Community Schools construction project was discussed by school officials as well as meeting attendees when the school board met last week. Superintendent Ned Speicher said a bit of feedback about the project was provided by a couple of citizens.
He explained, “Only two patrons had any contributions and both of them were just appreciative of the recently finished construction project and how nice everything was and just wanted to say thank you to the board for the construction project and how it came out.”
Overall, Speicher said the project came in about $25,000 under budget. As a reminder, it included painting, carpet installation, carpet cleaning and upgrades to security as well as bathroom renovations.
The superintendent shared that when board members met last Monday, they approved the final payment to be made to Milwood Construction, essentially closing out the project.
Speicher said all that remains now is money that is being held in a retainage fund that will be released once a few punch list items, such as paint touch-ups and minor fixes, are completed. He said those are expected to be done before students return from winter break.
