Argos Schools Construction Project Discussed at School Board Meeting

The Argos Community Schools construction project was discussed by school officials as well as meeting attendees when the school board met last week. Superintendent Ned Speicher said a bit of feedback about the project was provided by a couple of citizens.

He explained, “Only two patrons had any contributions and both of them were just appreciative of the recently finished construction project and how nice everything was and just wanted to say thank you to the board for the construction project and how it came out.” Continue reading

Summer/Fall Construction Project Declared Substantially Complete by Argos School Board

Argos School Board members declared the corporation’s ongoing construction project substantially complete when they met Monday night.

Superintendent Ned Speicher said the crews from Millwood Construction were given 30 days to complete the final punch list items to ensure all the work is done to the specifications laid out by school officials. Continue reading

Argos Community School Corporation Shares Tips for National Reading Month

As we enter the final week of National Reading Month, parents are reminded to be a part of their child’s reading regimen to help instill a love for books at an early age.

Earlier this month, representatives with the Argos Community School Corporation shared a few helpful tips to their website that were written by Kidder Media Editor Rebekah Whirledge.

One tip encourages parents to take their children book browsing. This can be done online from home, in a bookstore or at the local library. Architect Provides Report to Argos School Board Following Recent Site and Building Review

Last Monday, the Argos School Board received a report from architect Greg Drennan of LWC, Inc following a recent building and site review.

Drennan and representatives from the architecture firm recently conducted a walk thru and assessment of the school’s facility. Drennan reported that while looking at the general condition of the building and sites, there were no major issues found.  Continue reading
