Before Triton students and staff get a few days off for Thanksgiving Break, money from the Indiana Department of Education’s teacher appreciation grant will be distributed.
When it comes to the bonuses, Superintendent Jeremy Riffle explained that there is a 25 percent difference between teachers who received a “highly effective” evaluation compared to those who were ranked as “effective”.
Teachers who received an evaluation of “needs improvement” or those who are determined to be ineffective do not receive any grant funds.
Riffle noted that the funds were initially received on Friday, November 12th and school board members approved the distribution when they met on Wednesday, November 19th.
