Plymouth Residents Arrested for Cocaine Possession, Following Friday Night Traffic Stop

A Friday night traffic stop led to two Plymouth residents being arrested for cocaine possession. Marshall County Police say that around 8:50 p.m., they tried to pull over a 2012 Nissan pickup truck near the intersection of 9A and Richter roads. When the driver, Roberto Landron Fonseca, 27, stopped the truck in the Ace Fitness parking lot in Plymouth, police reportedly discovered that he was driving without a license.

Officers say a front-seat passenger, Lourdes Yanet Cerrato-Sevilla, 47, seemed to be very nervous. A police K9 then sniffed around the vehicle and alerted police to the presence of narcotics, according to the police report. Then an officer noticed Cerrato-Sevilla throwing items out of the passenger-side window. Police say they later tested positive for cocaine.

Cerrato-Sevilla and Fonseca were both taken to jail for possession of cocaine. Cerrato-Sevilla was also processed for obstruction of justice, while Fonseca was also processed for operating a vehicle without ever receiving a driver’s license.

In a separate incident on Saturday night, Carter Leroy Morse, 20, was arrested for unlawful possession of a syringe, after a K9 reportedly smelled narcotics during a traffic stop near Michigan Road and Custer Drive. Morse was also wanted on a felony warrant through LaPorte County.
