The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members will discuss the ratification of an executive order for a temporary street closure for a Veteran’s Day ceremony and a prepayment request for a new council chambers recording system. The board members are also expected to review the Complete Streets policy provided by the Discover Plymouth organization earlier this month.
The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members will meet at 6 p.m. tonight followed by the Plymouth City Council meeting at 6:30 p.m.
The city council members will hold a public hearing concerning a tax abatement for American Containers, Inc. Contingent on the public hearing, the council members will consider a resolution that confirms the adoption of a declaratory resolution designating certain real estate to be within an Economic Revitalization Area for the purpose of personal property tax abatement for American Containers, Inc.
A second public hearing is planned on the evening for advertised additional appropriations. Several resolutions will be considered later in the meeting that follow the public hearing.
A revision will be considered on an annexation ordinance that was previously approved. It amends the number of acres of real estate located immediately adjacent to the northeastern corporate boundary of the city. An ordinance that fixes the salaries for elected officials in the city will also be considered on second reading.
Both the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety and the Plymouth City Council meetings will be held in the new council chambers in the Plymouth City Building at 124 N. Michigan Street. Patrons are asked to enter through the Garro Street entrance and go to the second floor. After exiting the elevator or the stairwell, turn left, and the room will be the last door on the right.
