Officials at the Plymouth Municipal Airport are ready to get several projects off the ground!
Airport Manager Bill Sheley told the Plymouth City Council members last week that the Plymouth School Board members recently approved the addition of an aviation class to the Career and Technical Education curriculum. Sheley will be teaching the class for the school.
A new Fixed Based Operator will begin a flight school and charter service at the Plymouth Municipal Airport. American Airlines Pilot Dan Marohn and Ken Norris, who is a graduate of one of the most prestigious aeronautical schools in the country, will be the facilitators. Sheley said they’ve invested a lot of money in aircraft. While they will be providing their company services, they will be giving flight time and simulator time to the students in the aviation program through the school.
Meanwhile, an Open House is set from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the airport facility at 301 Airport Road where the staff and management will highlight all of the new things happening there. Visitors can also see where their pilot skills are at with a Virtual Reality simulator!
