Marshall County Health Administrator Christine Stinson came before the county council Tuesday morning to seek permission to submit two grant applications.
Stinson explained that the requests are related to two trusts that have been a part of the health department for many years. The applications she requested permission to submit were for the Local Health Department Trust Account and the Local Health Maintenance Trust Account.
She noted, “It’s kind of a standard thing, every health department is eligible for them, every health department gets them as long as you provided them with what you’re going to do with the money. They pretty much just take care of salaries and some benefits. They also take care of a leased vehicle for the food division.”
Council members provided unanimous approval for both applications to be submitted. Stinson added that once the application is submitted, the funds are deposited into the trust accounts two times a year; once at the beginning and another time mid-year around June or July.
