The John Glenn School Board members have narrowed their search for a new superintendent.
According to Recording Secretary Lisa Sleek, the school board recently met in executive session to interview prospective candidates and will finalize key issues with the contract in another executive session on Wednesday, Nov. 14.
The announcement is anticipated during the school board’s first meeting in December.
Meanwhile, Superintendent Richard Reese has not yet submitted his retirement paperwork for the board’s consideration. Reese has said in previous meetings that he intends to retire on June 30, 2019. He wanted to make sure a new hire is in place so proper training can take place a few months before he leaves the position.
Sleek indicated that the formal announcement should be included in the board’s packet at the next meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 20.
