Marshall County Highway Department crews have been working on various projects before snow arrives.
Highway Supervisor Jason Peters gave an update to the county commissioners on Monday morning.
“We’re trying to finish up on our berming projects. We’re getting close. We’re in the midst of getting things ready for winter. We completed a training class at the highway for internal control, Marshall County safety procedure and emergency protective measures in Title 6 for all employees,” said Peters.
Peters indicated that there are also guardrail repairs being made at several locations. Efforts are being made to work on guardrails on Plymouth-Goshen Trail and Miami plus one on old U.S. 31 south of U.S. 6.
Additionally, Commissioner Mike Delp commented that he’s noticed that the red reflective strips added to the stop sign posts are a positive addition. He sees them in Starke County and in other counties and believes that’s a helpful safety measure.
