Fire at Bremen Public Schools Extinguished Tuesday Morning

The Bremen Volunteer Fire Department responded to a small fire that broke out at the Bremen School Corporation on Tuesday morning. Superintendent Dr. Jim White said that some towels were being dried and the dryer malfunctioned causing a fire to break out.

The superintendent said the fire alarm was first sounded around 9:19 a.m. and students and staff were sent outside. He added that some buses were brought over so they could get everyone out of the winter weather. He said people were able to re-enter the building shortly after they were placed on the buses.

Dr. White noted that the firefighters responded very quickly and the fire was extinguished within about 35 minutes. There were no injuries and no major structural damage was reported.
