Students at the Argos Elementary School recently completed a philanthropic effort that will benefit first responders, active service members and veterans while a group at the high school tackled a project that will assist children from countries in need.
In a social media post, a school representative mentioned that the Elementary School’s candy drive was a major success. The students and staff members there were able to collect enough candy to fill 8 boxes.
Those goodies will be sent to Operation Gratitude where they’ll be placed into care packages for the nation’s heroes serving overseas, here at home and those who have served in the past.
School officials also shared that the Argos High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes club came together to work on a service project for Operation Christmas Child.
For this project, students filled boxes with a variety of items including toys, school supplies, shoes, clothing, personal care items and notes of encouragement.
The group had a goal to pack 20 boxes and they ended up packing eight more than expected! Officials report that the boxes will be taken to Crossroads Church and then they’ll be delivered to children in developing nations.
