Stellar Committee Preparing for Presentation

The members of the Marshall County Crossroads Stellar Initiative are preparing to deliver a presentation to state officials on the county’s proposed projects as part of a Regional Stellar Communities Designation application.

The county was named a Regional Stellar finalist earlier this year. They will be competing against four other regional groups for the chance to be named a Regional Stellar Community.

Marshall County’s presentation is set for Nov. 15 in Indianapolis. The winner will be announced yet this year.

Culver Town Council President Ginny Bess Munroe presented the Stellar Redevelopment Plan to the Bremen Town Council and the Plymouth City Council members last week. Marshall County Commissioner Kevin Overmyer presented the same book to the Culver Town Council members. In the document that is available to the public, it outlines all of the plans set forth in the Stellar application. A movie put together by Big Idea Company about Marshall County will be released around Nov. 15 where every town leader is shown in a town other than their own talking about that town’s proposed project.

If awarded, the county will have millions of dollars available to complete the projects in the plan.
