The Plymouth City Council members took action to approve a resolution to transfer $10,000 General Fund monies for the storm water utility.
Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson explained that the money will be transferred to the Capital Outlays and Equipment line item to replace storm sewers ahead of next year’s street paving projects. He said there won’t be enough time to get it all done in the spring before paving begins in April so he’d like to get it done this year.
In addition, about $5,000 is needed to repair a boring error that occurred through a sewer at a business. Davidson said he talked to Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver who said any money gathered from Comcast or the subcontractor will not necessarily go back into the fund from where the repair money will be spent.
The council members unanimously approved the request as presented.
They also approved an ordinance on second and third reading that discusses appropriations and tax rates for 2019. The ordinance was adopted with a unanimous vote.
