The renovation effort an the Plymouth City Building is almost complete.
Building Commissioner Keith Hammonds told the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members Monday night that the elevator inspection and smoke detector inspection was anticipated to be done on Tuesday. In addition, Hammonds was to complete his walk-through inspection to ensure all is ready to move back into the building.
The clerk-treasurer’s office was able to move back into the city building a couple of weeks ago. The mayor’s office, city attorney’s office and the promotion of the city coordinator’s office is on the second floor. The coordination of the move had to wait until the elevator passed inspection and other final inspections are completed.
The work has been ongoing for over a year. The initial completion date was to be in June of this year. Several improvements were made including new windows, updated lighting, flooring, and more. The clerk-treasurer’s office has utilized the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce Building during the time of construction.
