Like most schools around the state, the John Glenn School Corporation put their name in for free metal detectors and received them a while ago.
When asked about a policy for the devices, Superintendent Richard Reese said they are awaiting guidance from the Department of Safety for proper wording. He added that they are also waiting on training on the devices before they are put into use and how they would go about using them.
The corporation requested seven metal detectors and received that many from Governor Holcomb’s initiative to provide them free of charge for each corporation. One metal detector could be requested per 250 students.
