The John Glenn School Board members will be meeting in executive session soon to narrow the list of candidates who have applied for the superintendent’s position.
The board members met this week with the University Search Team where they detailed the process on naming a new superintendent. Seven applications have been submitted for the position. Superintendent Richard Reese noted that the board included on the application that superintendent experience is preferred.
It is the hope of the board to have a candidate in place by the end of the year so the new superintendent has time to get acclimated to the position by the time Reese retires next year.
Reese says he intends to retire at the end of June in 2019. He hasn’t formally presented his retirement notice for board approval.
