Crews working on Plymouth’s new Lincoln Junior High School building are busy preparing the site for winter. Project Manager Derek Anderson told the Plymouth School Board Tuesday that 95 percent of the footings and foundations have been poured for the two-story classroom wing.
He said all the footing and foundation work should be done in about three weeks. Meanwhile, the underground plumbing is in place for the future locker rooms, while similar work for the classroom wing is currently underway.
Anderson said masonry workers have begun laying the first course of block at the classroom wing. He explained that there are currently 10 masonry workers on the job site, with a couple more expected to join them next week.
Going forward, the setting of the steel joists and decking for the gym is scheduled to begin October 22. Anderson told the school board that the project remains on-schedule overall, but he’s had to make a few adjustments. The goal is to get some flooring work done before winter, so that some areas may be heated, allowing as much of the work as possible to continue.
