The projects within the Town of Culver’s Stellar Communities Designation program will begin next year.
Town Manager Jonathan Leist told the town council members last week that they did receive the notice of award for funds from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, but the money has not been received.
In a meeting with the Troyer Group, Shannon McLeod from Priority Project Resources, Mosaic Builders, and Culver officials, a timeline of bidding and construction was compiled. The bids for the Beach Lodge project are anticipated in February of 2019 with partial construction to begin prior to Memorial Day and more following the busy season at the park. The bids for the Cavalier Sports Park are anticipated by June 1, 2019 with construction to begin in the late summer.
Clerk-Treasurer Karen Heim said these projects need to be done by March 31, 2020.
Leist also updated the town council members about work at the Sand Hill Farms workforce housing development. The lift stations are being installed and Thomas Excavating will be doing some additional clearing of trees to make way for the sidewalk project.
In a separate housing project on that property, Developer Kevin Berger said the paperwork has been turned in and will be considered for tax credit funding on Nov. 15 in Indianapolis. The proposed income-based rental property is called The Paddocks and will feature 36 three bedroom units and 12 two bedroom units in a mixture of townhomes and apartments.
