Construction work continues at Culver Community Middle/High School. Superintendent Karen Shuman says upgrades to the restrooms across from the high school gym are 50-percent complete. “We are hoping for an October 15th completion date of those restrooms,” she says.
Meanwhile, she says the finishing touches were being put on the new main entrance Wednesday. “[On] the security doors, the fob mechanisms are being installed,” she explains, “and then that will finish what is necessary in the new lobby entrance.”
A similar secure entrance is planned for Culver Elementary School. Shuman says that proposed project has received a funding boost from Good Oil. The company has given $4,750 to Culver Community Schools as part of its “Spirit Pump” program. For every gallon of gas purchased at a particular pump, Good Oil donated three cents to a local school for safety and security.
