Argos officials finalized details for this year’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony at last Wednesday’s town council meeting.
Library Director Jane Hall reminded council members that the Friends of the Argos Public Library group decorated the tree and hosted last year’s ceremony.
She explained that the lighting ceremony is scheduled for the week after Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 29th and that it will run from around 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Hall mentioned that there had been some discussions about moving the ceremony to a different location but ultimately, group members decided to keep it at the library. She noted that in order to keep traffic from disrupting the ceremony, they could put some cones in the street in front of the library during that time.
Hall added that a town employee helped get the tree put up last year and that they’ve indicated they can help out again this year.
The council members provided verbal approval of the plans that Director Hall presented.
