Apartments may be ready in one of the River Gate South complexes at the corner of Lake Street and Michigan Street in Plymouth in November.
Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jerry Chavez told the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission members this week that there have been good responses from recent tours. He said two companies have approached him as they have a number of managers that travel and they would like to secure an apartment to ensure that those employees have a place to stay that’s like home.
Chavez said available units in Building A, which is closest to Michigan Street, may come in November as this has been a fast-moving project. Each floor plan is different and 39 apartments will be completed soon in three different buildings.
Two other buildings in the entire project remain under construction and are on schedule.
River Gate South is proposed as a workforce housing need to help increase economic health and stability. Funding for the project was made available through the Regional Cities Initiative while the City of Plymouth also committed funds seeing this as an opportunity to help advance the community.
