Administrators at the Plymouth High School addressed fictitious school safety threats reported on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Plymouth Community School Corporation, a group of students told high school administrators that a student was going to “shoot up the school” on Friday, Sept. 21. A subsequent investigation by the school administrators and officers from the Plymouth Police Department found that the alleged threat was never made. School officials say that students were harassing a fellow student by “creating a fictitious rumor of him making threats to commit violence.” No actual threat was made.
In an official statement, the Plymouth Community School Corporation officials say they appreciate efforts made by students who report potential safety threats to the school. The students who made the false claims against their fellow student will face harsh consequences for their actions.
