The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission members took the necessary steps to create a TIF District that would encompass the new Winona Building Products, LLC company.
A public hearing was held to gather input, but no public comments were given.
Following the hearing, the commission members approved resolutions that establishes the Western Avenue Economic Development Area and designates Winona Building Products, LLC as the taxpayer of the allocation area for the purpose of Tax Increment Financing (TIF).
Winona Building Products, LLC officials are planning to upgrade the plant at 506 North Street that formerly housed Del Monte to support more than four manufacturing lines by 2022. Winona Building Products, LLC offers high-quality insulation facings and vapor retarders.
The first phase will be complete in about three months which will enable the installation of Line 1 equipment and building improvements. A total of 40 new jobs will be created by the first quarter of 2019 with interviews and hiring to begin in the next few months.
