Approximately 625 kindergarten and first-grade students from Plymouth, Culver, Triton, and Bremen schools had a chance to explore a college campus yesterday thanks to Marshall County Promise.
The goal of Marshall County Promise is to get students thinking about post-secondary education as a realistic option early on.
Aside from helping students in grades K-3 start college savings accounts, this initiative is reinforced with college-oriented curriculum being incorporated into the classrooms and taking young students on a field trip to the Ancilla College campus through the ‘Walk into my Future’ event.
During the event, students get a chance swing by several different stations where they can learn about various topics such as agriculture and animal science, coping skills, science, math, creative writing and nursing. They also get a chance to try out an obstacle course!
Next Friday, students from LaVille, John Glenn and Argos will have a chance to participate in the ‘Walk into My Future’ event.
