David’s Courage Selected as Lowe’s Heroes Project

The residential recovery program David’s Courage was recently selected as a Lowe’s Heroes project!

Through this program, Lowe’s employees team up and adopt a volunteer project with local nonprofit organizations and schools. They donate materials and their time to assist with restoration efforts.

As David’s Courage continues to work on their “Open the Doors” campaign, these volunteers will contribute valuable construction assistance to help complete repairs and renovations at the transitional residency facility that will be for individuals recovering from drug and alcohol addiction.

According to a press release from Red Door Marketing, Joshua Largen, the store manager at the Lowe’s in Plymouth, said the goal of the Heroes Project is to give back to the community that supports them. He remarked that they embrace teamwork and believe working together can build something better.

Board President of David’s Courage, Gregg Erickson said organization reps are truly humbled to be selected as the recipients of this project and agreed wholeheartedly with Largen’s statement.

Erickson noted that their organization encompasses the phrase “building something better” since the residents of their facility will have the opportunity to build a better life for themselves, just as soon as they open their doors.

Erikson added that as the organization works diligently to raise the $100,000 needed to meet safety code and security standards, the contribution of materials and employees’ time and skills will impact their efforts greatly.

Every year for more than a decade, a nonprofit organization or K-12 school has been impacted by Lowe’s Heroes. As a whole, Lowe’s employees have participated in over 1,300 projects and donated $1.3 million in materials.

David’s Courage is situated on the former Shady Rest Home property, located on Lincoln Highway in Plymouth. If you’d like to learn more about the organization visit DavidsCourage.com or check out their Facebook page.
