Bremen Town Council members promoted the town’s wastewater foreman to a superintendent’s position when they met on Monday.
Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said that Foreman Matt Cunningham was previously serving as an acting superintendent but needed to pass a test to receive his Class 3 License before he could be officially promoted.
Weldy explained that a Class 3 License is required to sign IDEM permits and other official paperwork that’s required through the state. Cunningham was receiving outside assistance on those matters while he prepared to take the test.
He mentioned that the majority of Cunningham’s responsibilities will remain the same but since he now has a Class 3 License, he can be the one to sign off on necessary documents. Weldy said in addition to the change of title, Cunningham received a pay raise as well.
