Bremen School Board Reviews Projects, Securing Entrances Still Top Priority

After bids came in a little higher than expected, Bremen School officials are reevaluating proposed projects, according to Superintendent Dr. Jim White.

White noted, “What we’re doing is revisiting our list of things we’d like to accomplish and trying to reprioritize those to say okay, what’s in and what’s out.”

Though nothing has been finalized, Dr. White said there is one project that takes top priority for obvious reasons.

He explained, “The prevailing thought is securing our elementary and middle school entrances so that they’re a little more to the current standards as far as how you greet patrons and parents and how to keep that traffic out of the actual hallway.”

The various proposed projects will be funded with a $4 million bond that was issued to Bremen Public Schools last spring. As officials continue to prioritize, the matter will be readdressed at a future meeting.
