With the town’s current impound lot at capacity, Bremen officials are searching for a new place to put vehicles that don’t run and are deemed as junk.
Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said that conversations about a possible land acquisition have been occurring recently. He noted that officials are talking with a local property owner who seems willing to part with a piece of land that could be used to create a new impound lot.
Weldy said the potential property is near the Wastewater Treatment Plant and it’s situated on the opposite side of town from where the current lot is located.
The Town Council didn’t take any official actions on the matter when they met this week but they will address it in future meetings as discussions between town officials and the property owner continue.
