Bourbon Town Council Renames Street “Wagner Way’ in Honor of Former Town Attorney

The late Mark Wagner has been commemorated in the Town of Bourbon with a street named “Wagner Way.”

This matter was first considered during a meeting back in February shortly after Wagner passed away. It was then that town council members voted to move forward with the idea of dedicating a street in memory of the town’s attorney of many years. With the “Wagner Way” street sign ready to replace the “Third Street” sign, council members passed a resolution last Tuesday, making the name change official.

Mark’s son Tony took over for his father as the Town’s attorney once Mark passed away. The two created the Bremen-based law firm Wagner & Wagner together back in 2014. Council President Les McFarland shared that Tony and his mother Jean were present at last week’s meeting where members finalized this decision.

McFarland said renaming the street in honor of Mark was a way for Town officials to recognize his dedication to Bourbon and the multiple other civic organizations that he donated his time to.
