The construction of the Aquatics Center and Early Childhood Learning Center is progressing at 2860 Miller Drive in Plymouth.
Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jerry Chavez told the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission members Monday night that the foundation is being done for the projects. He indicated that about 12,000 square feet of concrete has been poured in this process.
The masons are preparing for the installation of split-faced block for the exterior of the buildings.
Many representatives from lending agencies for the project have been on site to witness the construction process thus far. Chavez mentioned that he begins his day at the site everyday as it’s near the MCEDC offices so it’s easy to check in to see the daily progress.
The Aquatics Center will feature a 10-lane pool with two diving boards, two family changing rooms and seating for over 350 people. The City of Plymouth, Plymouth Community School Corporation and Ancilla College are partnering to allow this facility to be built.
The Early Childhood Learning Center will provide space to provide affordable, high quality pre-kindergarten education and childcare. It will house the Growing Kids Learning Center, Marshall County Community Foundation and United Way of Marshall County.
