The John Glenn School Board took action to renew its contract with The Crossing.
The Crossing offers an alternative way of educating students who may not thrive in a traditional classroom setting.
Superintendent Richard Reese said one student from the corporation participated in the program last year. Students have education classes for half of a day and then a work program for the other part of the day. A faith-based component is also available.
The Crossing charges the school corporation for each student each month.
Reese noted that The Crossing is an important opportunity to offer students as it captures students who may not otherwise obtain their diploma. This gives them a second chance.
The school board members unanimously approved the contract with The Crossing.
High School Principal William Morton and Assistant Principal Chris Manering are expected to visit the facility in the next week.
