The John Glenn School Board considered an overnight trip request to the Stratford Theater Festival.
Richard Snyder told the school board that 12 students will be making the trip to Stratford, Ontario, Canada for the unique opportunity.
“The kids are going to see Julius Caesar, The Music Man, To Kill a Mockingbird, and then a modern adaptation of an Italian comedy,” said Snyder. “They get to go to a stage combat seminar including sword play this year and then a post-show chat with professional actors. For the first time, they’re going to watch a turnaround view which means after the show they can sit and watch them change from the matinee to the evening performance.”
The school board members did approve the request with a unanimous vote. This will be the third year the department has taken students to this event. It will be Aug. 30 though Sept. 3.
