School officials at Lincoln Jr. High in Plymouth will be holding “iParent” meetings today to issue student computers and discuss expectations when it comes to technology usage.
In order to account for various schedules, three different meetings are scheduled. The first meeting will be held from 10 a.m. until noon EST, the second session will take place from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and the last meeting will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Officials shared that the purpose of these meetings is to provide students with their computers before the start of the school year and to communicate how to use the technology responsibility.
While describing the event, school representatives stated that student computers are essential learning tools but they can be a distraction if not used responsibly. Parents are encouraged to attend today’s meeting so they can ensure their child is adhering to the set expectations while utilizing their computers at home.
As long as a parent is in attendance, students can pick up their computers after each of these meetings. If parents can not make it to one of the meetings, students will receive their computer on the first day of school.
Additionally, Lincoln Jr. High students have a chance to tour the school today, to familiarize themselves with the overall layout, find their classrooms and practice their locker combination. Open school times will be held from 9 a.m. until noon and from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Parents are not required to attend the open school times.
