Indiana State Police Respond to Fatal Accident on US 31

Around 9:30 a.m. Monday morning, the Indiana State Police investigated a fatal crash in Marshall County that occurred in the northbound driving lane of US 31, just north of 11th Road.

The preliminary investigation reportedly revealed that a white 1995 Kenworth semi driven by 49-year-old Randall Grabowski, of Bremen, had been traveling westbound on 11th Road, prior to turning northbound onto US 31.

Police say that as the Kenworth got up to speed in the right northbound lane of US 31, a black 2016 Ford F150 pickup truck being driven northbound collided with the rear end of the trailer being towed by the semi.

The collision occurred approximately 500 feet north of 11th road and apparently caused the Ford to become fused with the rear of the trailer. Both vehicles moved to the right shoulder following the crash.

The pickup was being driven by 31-year-old Mitchell Warner, of Cloverdale. Warner was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Marshall County Coroner. The family of the deceased has been notified.

ISP reports that alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this case. The investigation remains ongoing.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the Marshall County Coroner and the Plymouth Fire Department assisted ISP at the scene.
